I plan our own curriculum based on our learning styles and the resources that work best for us. We’ve been through a few different types of books over the years and some have worked better than others. Sometimes we also needed a change from certain styles of books and have dipped into other books for a little while.
For English and Maths we’ve also used online programs as part of our curriculum. Either to teach the concepts initially or to reinforce and practice certain skills. Whilst there are many online programs out there, I try to ensure that we aren’t too heavily dependent upon online programs. I find it too easy to miss the fact they haven’t really understood a concept if it’s all done online.
